There are 5 types of membership offered, as detailed below. PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP is open to practicing photographers. Along with your membership application you should also submit your portfolio and some of your professional published work. Photography should be the main income and the final decision will lie with the Managing Committee to accept or reject the portfolios Members in this category are eligible to work and serve on the committee and enjoy full voting rights.
Photographers situated out of Mumbai have all the rights of professional members except that they can't serve on the managing committee or stand for election for the same. However, they can avail of a reduced subscription fee under PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP (OS).
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP is open to people related to photography as well as practitioners of its allied fields such as printing, processing, editors of magazines, advertising etc. Individuals located outside of Mumbai can avail of a reduced subscription fee under ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP (OS) Associate members have no voting rights.
INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP is open to organizations and companies related to the photographic industry and its allied fields such as manufacturers and dealers of photographic goods, printing goods, processing goods, computers and digital imaging.
ASSISTANT MEMBERSHIP is open to photographers' assistants who may be sponsored by the photographers for whom they work or may join independently. Assistant members don't have any voting rights.
STUDENT MEMBERSHIP must be actively studying professional photography and submit a copy of a student ID along with their application Student members don't have any voting rights.
